Rehabilitation with IDD Therapy® (Intervertebral Differentail Dynamics)
IDD Therapy is a full rehabilitation approach. First, there is a Physical Assessment, perhaps followed by an MRI Scan. The results of which are discussed and if appropriate a course of rehabilitation is then planned. Along with IDD Therapy an exercise programme is given to build up core stability.
IDD Therapy is capable of delivering back pain solutions that are long lasting and cost effective.
What does it do and how does it work?
IDD Therapy can isolate each lumbar or cervical vertebrae and distract the vertebrae surrounding an injured disc by some 5 to 7 millimetres. The treatment lasts some 25mins providing static, intermittent cycled forces on structures that may be causing the pain. Negative pressure promotes the diffusion of water, oxygen and nutrients into the vertebral disc space which may help to promote improved hydration of the degenerated disc.
Repeated differentials combined with improved joint mobility may promote the retraction of a herniated nucleus pulpous. A course of between ten and twenty treatments over a two to six week period is often necessary in chronic cases. IDD Therapy® in studies has shown an 86% response rate.
During treatment there is no need to remove clothing although loose fitting trousers should be worn. Patients should feel relaxed during throughout their treatment in some cases falling asleep. It is possible to try a short trial on the machine prior to committing to a course of therapy. All costs are discussed prior to treatment.
IDD therapy® is also suitable for painful conditions of the neck (cervical spine). Neck pain treatment is extremely gentle and safe with patients relaxed at all times. Many patients experience significant pain relief in as little as 3 or 5 treatments, subject to the condition and duration of the problem.
